Betty, Bob & Family,
We were so sorry to hear of Joe's death. Knowing the Dugan family is one of our fondest memories of Whipple Street days. All of you are in our thoughts & prayers. We will never forget Joe's going to bat for Kevin to get the educational help he needed after his brain surgery.

I am sorry for your loss. I hope that Mr. Dugan's passing was a peaceful one. Mr. Dugan was my 5th grade science and math teacher in 1989. I remember him as a caring teacher. Years after attending the Cunniff as a student, I returned as a teacher. On occasion, I am reminded of Mr. Dugan as I am currently teaching in the classroom that was once his.
My deepest condolences to your family.

I just wanted to say that my prayers that peace be with you during this time. I know that Mr. Joseph Dugan was a great man. He raised a great son in William (Bill) Dugan. He is sharing and very open to others. I have learned so much from him and thank his dad for teaching him these great characteristics and qualities.

How often I recall the story of Mr. Dugan calling me to visit at the school. When I visited, he said, "I just have to share this with you because it so wonderful." And it was. It was an essay on heroes that would not be sent home. My daughter wrote about me. Being let in to my daughter's private world of thoughts was a gift to me. I thanked him so much then and continue to do so. It was only very recently, I told my adult daughter the story. Thank you again Mr. Dugan. Thank you.

Dear Sue ....No need to tell you how sorry we are of the passing of Joe. I for one will miss his wry wit and our occasional gardening chats about our tomato plots. We will miss seeing you both on your afternoon walks while we have our "tea". And little "Bengee" will miss having someone to bark at. God Bless you and your family. Love from Enid and Betty.
